In January 2019 we made an application for a Dutch national child, who was born in the United Kingdom and resided in the UK for the first 10 years of his life. The application was successful by mid-March, to the delight of the mother and child. We submitted that under section 1(4) of the British Nationality Act 1981 the applicant should be registered as a British national, as he is a child who has lived in the UK for the first 10 years of his life.
