The Courts will continue to operate throughout the four-week period of lockdown as usual, the Courts are among the public services that will stay open and people required to attend Court will be able to leave home for this purpose. The legal profession, the parties, the witnesses, the Judges, the Magistrates and Courts staff are all key workers, vital to the continued running of the Courts and Tribunals and the message from the Lord Chief Justice and Senior President of the Tribunals is that Judges and Magistrates must continue to make full use of provisions for remote hearings, so that cases can be dealt with as soon and as efficiently as possible. The Courts are keen to avoid any substantial delays. We are also open for business as usual and happy to assist with new enquiries and existing clients.
