Homosexuality in Bangladesh

This year I went to Pride and I had a wonderful day.  In the crowds I watched CEMB marching to defend the rights of LGBT, apostates and blasphemers.  They protested because homosexuality is punishable by the death penalty. Peter Tatchell welcomed CEMB to the London parade stating, that they are doing an important, fearless work, exposing Islamic countries that have the death penalty not only for the LGBT people but also for Muslims who leave the faith, women who have sex outside marriage, and those who decent from Islamic orthodoxy....

Section 377 of the Indian Penal Code 1860 criminalises same sex sexual activity.  On 2nd July 2009 the Delhi High Court declared section 377 Indian Penal Code to be in violation of the Indian Constitution in so far as it criminalises consensual sexual acts between adults in private.  However, in a Judgement of 11th December 2013 the Supreme Court found the declaration of the Delhi High Court to be legally unsustainable....

It’s never too late

Dave* was a non-European national. In his thirties he married and had a child but he and his wife drifted apart romantically and settled into a routine companionship which could have lasted into their retirement had Dave not discovered in his late fifties that he would be happier with a male partner.  He and his wife divorced amicably and on a trip to the U.K. he wandered into a gay friendly pub and whilst watching sport there struck up a conversation with Jerry, a European national also in his sixties.  That day’s debate on the finer points of rugby versus American football was the starting point of a life changing relationship for both men.  They spent more and more time together, and began to plan for a Civil Partnership ceremony, with the reception to be held, fittingly, at the pub where they had first met....
