The new Points Based System sets out the requirements for migrants to come to the UK to work, to study or for some other economic activity. It is divided into 5 tiers. The main 2 tiers are:
Tier 1 – highly skilled individuals. This replaces the old Highly Skilled Migrant Programme (HSMP) now called Tier 1 (General). Unlike the old Work Permits scheme, you do not need a job offer to apply to come to the UK under the new Tier 1 (General) scheme.
Tier 2 – skilled workers. This replaces the old Work Permit system which enabled you to get a UK work permit.
Danielle Cohen Immigration Solicitors, are currently assisting with all Tier 1 (General) applications, previously known as HSMP applications and getting a UK work permit under the new Tier 2 system. It is noted that a key feature of the new Points Based System is that the type of evidence needed to support an application to come to the UK is tightly regulated. Our immigration solicitors ensure that all applications under the Tier 1 (General) system, previously known as HSMP submitted by us meet all regulations set by the Home Office.
Please contact one of our immigration lawyers for advice on how we can assist you with making these applications.
